ABSTRACT

Objective:To identify the risk factors for simple congenital ptosis. Methods:A case-control study was performed.A total of 106 children diagnosed with simple congenital ptosis at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine from October 2018 to January 2021 were recruited as a case group, and 106 sex-matched children without congenital abnormalities were enrolled as a control group at the same period.Ophthalmic examinations, including interpalpebral fissure height and margin reex distance 1, were performed on all participants.A questionnaire survey was administered to their mothers. The questionnaire included demographic information, prenatal maternal diseases, medical treatments and environmental exposures during pregnancy.Univariate analysis was used to compare the differences in variables between the case and control groups.Variables with P<0.20 were retained for multivariate logistic regression analysis to identify the risk factors for simple congenital ptosis. The goodness of fit of the model was evaluated by the Hosmer-Lemeshow test, and collinearity was assessed by the variance inflation factor (VIF). This study adhered to the Declaration of Helsinki. The study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (No.2019-136). The method and purpose of the study were fully explained to the children's guardians and written informed consent was obtained. Results:Comparisons of gestational age <37 weeks, birth order ≥2, maternal age, antibiotic use in the first trimester, paternal smoking ≥half a pack per day, and prenatal maternal passive smoking between the two groups were all with P<0.20.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that gestational age <37 weeks (odds ratio [ OR]=4.58; 95% confidence interval [ CI]: 1.24-16.85), paternal smoking ≥half a pack per day ( OR=2.28; 95% CI: 1.22-4.28) and prenatal maternal passive smoking ( OR=3.13; 95% CI: 1.16-8.41) were risk factors for simple congenital ptosis. No significant collinearity was found among these identified factors (all VIF<5). Conclusions:Preterm birth, paternal smoking, and prenatal maternal passive smoking are risk factors for simple congenital ptosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effects of Fuzheng Huayu Capsule on the expressions of the main roles, Rock1 and Rock2, in RhoA/Rock signal transduction pathway in rats with myocardial infarction (MI);To explore the possible mechanism of Fuzheng Huayu Capsule to improve ventricular remodeling in myocardial fibrosis. Methods The MI model was induced by ligation of the left coronary artery. Rats with MI were randomly divided into the model group, Fuzheng Huayu group and Fasudil hydrochloride group. A sham-operation group threading without ligation was setting as a control group, with eight rats in each group. The rats were treated with corresponding medicine for 4 weeks from the second day after modeling. The expression of Rock1, Rock2 and its mRNA were detected by immunohistochemical and real-time PCR method. Results The protein expression of Rock1 and Rock2 in model group were significantly higher than those in the sham-operation group (P<0.05). The protein expression of Rock1 and Rock2 in the Fuzheng Huayu group and Fasudil hydrochloride group were lower than those in the model group. The mRNA expression of Rock2 was significantly higher in the model group than that in the sham-operation group (P<0.05). The mRNA expression of Rock1 in the Fasudil hydrochloride group was lower than that in the model group (P<0.05). The mRNA expression of Rock2 in the Fuzheng Huayu group and Fasudil hydrochloride group was lower than that in the model group (P<0.05). Conclusion Fuzheng Huayu Capsule can decrease the expression of Rock1, Rock2 and Rock2 in the marginal zone of myocardial infarction in rats with MI. The anti ventricular remodeling mechanism of Fuzheng Huayu Capsule maybe related with this.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the effects of percutaneous liver tumor injection combined with the clinical efficacy of transcatheter hepatic artery chemoembolization in the treatment of advanced liver cancer, and to provide ref-erence for clinical treatment. Methods 22 patients using percutaneous liver tumor injection combined with transcath-eter arterial chemoembolization for treatment were selected, with which 1 month follow-up after discharge.Situation of patients with percutaneous liver tumor injection and transcatheter hepatic artery chemoembolization was analyzed, and the changes of the patients in the following -up of survival time, tumor volume and clinical symptoms were also ana-lyzed.Results Among the patients of postoperative recheck after 6 weeks,6 cases were complete remission, there were partial remission in 8 cases,6 cases of stable,2 cases of progress.Follow up to 2013 December, the patients'sur-vival time was 17-82 months, the average survival time was (55.71 ±13.47)months.After treatment,4 cases of patients'tumor diameter reduced 1 -3cm,18 cases of tumor diameter reduced 3 -5cm,19 cases of liver area pain symptoms for more than half a year of remission,3 cases of liver area pain relief time less than half a year.During the follow -up period,12 patients died of multiple organ failure. Conclusion The development of percutaneous liver tumor injection combined with transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization therapy can delay the development of the disease in patients with advanced HCC,and prolong the survival time.

ABSTRACT

Objective To discuss compatibility regularity of Banxia Xiexin Decoction adjusting gastric mobility. Methods Ninty healthy SD male rats were divided into normal group (10 rats) and model group (80 rats). Rat models of electrogastric dysrhythmias were established. After the evaluation of gastric electrophysiology, Banxia Xiexin Decoction were divided into Xinkai, Kujiang, Ganbu, Xinkaikujiang, Xinkaiganbu, and Kujiangganbu groups according to the compatibility regularity of Banxia Xiexin Decoction, 10 rats for each group. Rats in each medication administration group received gavage with same concentration but different volume for 4 weeks. Each group was analyzed for gastric electrical parameters after administration. The expressions of Cx43 and Cx43 mRNA in the gastric tissue of rats in each group were analyzed by immunohistochemistry and real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR. Results Compare with the normal group, the expressions of Cx43 and Cx43 mRNA in the gastric tissue of rats increased significantly in the model group. Compared with the model group, variable coefficient of electrogastric slow wave frequency in all medication administration groups decreased obviously. Banxia Xiexin Decoction and its components had decreased the expression of Cx43 and Cx43 mRNA to some extent, among which Xinkaiganbu group had best effects. Conclusion The mechanism of Banxia Xiexin Decoction adjusting gastric motility maybe related to its function of decreasing the expressions of Cx43 and Cx43 mRNA, as to adjust disordered electrogastric rhythm.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the feasibility and efficacy of using the hepatoduodenal ligament tension-reduced operation (tension-reduced operation in short) for iatrogenic bile duct injury where the bile duct was severely defective. MethodsBetween March 2006 and May 2009, the authors treated 6 patients with iatrogenic bile duct injury (Bismuth type Ⅱ : 5 patients and type Ⅲ : 1 patient). A no. 7 black silk thread was used to hold the hilar plate tissues and the seromuscular layer of the bulbous part of the duodenum closer together and knots were tied. This method brought the porta hepatis and the duodenal bulb closer together and the hepatoduodenal ligament was shortened. An end to end anastomosis could then be made between the two broken ends of the defective bile duct without tension. ResultsSix patients suffered from bile duct injury and they recovered fully after the tensionreduced operation. There was no complication on follow-up. ConclusionsThe tension-reduced operation was efficacious in the treatment of iatrogenic bile duct injury. This technique should be popularized and more widely used.
